Phoenix Fire host action-packed Title Belts bouts

Some memorable action unfolded in the quest to be among the first belt holders in England Boxing’s newly re-established Title Belt series.

Several National Belts were contested at a show organised by Phoenix Fire ABC on Saturday.

A capacity crowd of over 700 enjoyed a full evening of boxing in the atmospheric Warrington Parr Hall.

The event had six National Belt matches, one Northern Belt and five support elite senior bouts featuring boxers from Phoenix Fire ABC, the RAF, the army and Chester ABC.

All bouts were of high quality and l keenly contested, which kept the spectators on the edge of their seats throughout the night.

Damian Ridpath, England Boxing’s Club Support Officer for the North West, who has helped organised the Title Belts competition, was delighted with the way the show ran.

He said: “It was an absolutely fantastic event, with a youngsters show in the afternoon followed by the seniors boxing in the evening.

“England Boxing would like to thank all the volunteers from Phoenix Fire ABC, and officials from Merseyside and Cheshire ABA and UKAF who supported the event, ensuring it ran smoothly enabling a fantastic night of boxing was enjoyed by all.”

On a busy weekend, other bouts were contested in the South, while there was a Female contest held in Birmingham.

The winners of all are detailed below.

National Belts

52kg, Muzzy Fuyana (Middlesborough) beat Imad Nasseb (Phoenix Fire) by a unanimous decision.

56kg, Nico Leivars (Hoddesdon) beat Connor Burton (Middleton Select) by a split decision.

60kg, Cain Morris (Leigh) beat Jordan Flynn (Hoddesdon) by a unanimous decision after a clash of heads in round two.

69kg, Brad Ingram (City of Gloucester) beat Andrew Stafford (Chadderton) by a split decision.

75kg, Ramtin Musah (Beartown) beat Stan Stannard (Hoddesdon) by a unanimous decision.

91kg+, Delicious Orie (Jewellery Quarter) beat Steve Robinson (Swalwell) by a unanimous decision.

Northern Belt

69kg, Ivan Duniak (Rotunda) beat George Davey (Henrys) by a spilt decision.

Southern Belts

91kg+, Jamie Tshiekva (White Hart Lane, pictured above) beat Joel Kirby (Royal Navy) by a unanimous decision.

91kg, Sherif Musah (White Hart Lane, pictured below) beat Macormac Farrell (Royal Navy) by a split decision.

Female Belt

51kg, Stevie Pitt beat Jade Ashmore by a split decision.
