It was a mixed day for England on the first day of the EUBC European Boxing Championships 2019 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Things started well for the Three Lions as Gracie Holland (Priory Park, pictured above, blue headguard) was a unanimous 5-0 winner over Belarus’ Hanna Serada in the girls Under 54kg category.

But Frank Middleton (West Ham) then suffered disappointment as he was beaten in a close 3-2 split decision by Belarus’ Hatsaku Aliaksei at 44.5kg.

And England were on the wrong end of the result in their only other bout when Elijah Moore was beaten in the evening session.

The Kent Gloves boxer went down a 4-1 split decision defeat to Dmytro Mischenko of Ukraine.
