England earn 5-5 draw on first day of Wales duel

England’s Junior and Youth squads boxed their way to a hard-fought 5-5 on the first day of their duel with Cardiff in Wales last night (Friday 13th May).

Victories were secured by Josh Jarvis, Joe Turner, Mikie Tallon, Fred Pullen and Jimmy Dean Wood, with a full list of results.

The second day of a two-day double header takes place today.

Results

Junior Under 48kg – Raj Singh lost to Joshua Jarvis (West Ham) by a unanimous decision.

Junior Under 50kg – Henry Janes beat Leighton Birchall (Sharpstyle) by a 3-2 split decision.

Junior Under 52kg – Mickey O’Sullivan lost to Joe Turner (Halifax) by a 4-1 split decision.

Junior Under 63kg – Kai Powell beat Nathan Barrett (Powerday Hooks) by a 3-2 split decision.

Junior Under 66kg – Millwyn Lloyd beat Callum Kilmore-Walsh (Wycombe) by a unanimous decision.

Youth Under 48kg – Saeed Abdullah lost to Mikie Tallon (Lee Jones) by a unanimous decision.

Youth Under 51kg – Cory Jones beat Leo Wood (Guildford City) by a unanimous decision.

Youth Under 54kg – Joe Williams beat Haris Zaman (Middlesbrough) by a unanimous decision.

Youth Under 60kg – Axel Hegarty lost to Fred Pullen (West Ham) by a 3-2 split decision.

Youth Under 71kg – Luke Corcoran lost to Jimmy Dean Wood (Westree) by a RSC (Round 3).
