England Boxing showcases engagement work at The Sport Parkinson’s Try-Athlon 2025

On Sunday, 22nd June 2025, the Twickenham Stoop played host to the Parkinson’s Sport Try-Athlon — a celebration of inclusivity, movement, and resilience — and England Boxing was proud to be a part of this inspiring event.
The Try-Athlon brought together a vibrant community of individuals living with Parkinson’s, offering them the opportunity to experience a variety of adapted sports first-hand. England Boxing joined a diverse group of sporting organisations, each sharing the same mission: to make sport accessible and empowering for those navigating life with Parkinson’s.
For England Boxing, the event was a brilliant opportunity to showcase the work that has been growing within our own Parkinson’s programme. Attendees were invited to take part in tailored boxing activities, guided by our experienced coaches, offering a taste of how boxing can benefit balance, coordination, strength, and overall well-being.
The response was overwhelmingly positive. Many attendees left inspired and eager to explore more, with several expressing interest in joining their local England Boxing club or dedicated Parkinson’s hub.
Harrison Frew, the Southern Counties CSO, commented on the adaptations made by EB and the other sports: “It was both a privilege and a joy to witness how other sports approached coaching and engagement, with creative and thoughtful adaptations tailored to the unique needs of participants.
“We are proud of the progress made so far and deeply grateful to Parkinson’s UK and the organisers of the Try-Athlon for hosting such a meaningful day.”
