Applications Open for U19 England Performance Open Talent Day

England Boxing is hosting an Open Talent Day (OTD) for U19 boxers (born in 2008 and 2009) on Saturday, 25^th April, at the Tamworth Boxing Club, Tamworth.

OTDs are designed to identify talented boxers who may not have been scouted during the recent England Boxing National Youth Championships 2026. This could be due to talented boxers meeting in the early stages of the competition, and others being unable to enter due to injury or illness.

The standard England Boxing is looking for is high. Boxers on the Performance Pathway are expected to meet training demands and compete in international competitions against the very best from other nations with a potential 24-month age difference.

Each boxer will be assessed on technical and tactical skills, using a rating system (RAGG), and may receive feedback from the England Boxing coaches.

Following the assessment, boxers who meet the required assessment levels will be invited onto the England Boxing Performance Pathway.

Date: Saturday 25th April 2026

Timings: 10:00am – 4.00pm (specific timings will be supplied in the invitation letter)

Venue: Tamworth Boxing Club, Cornerpost Education Centre, Orchard Street, Tamworth, B79 7RH

Please Note: Do not attend without being invited.

Compulsory Criteria (All boxers must meet these criteria):

• Hold a valid BCR1 (to be shown on the day)
• Be a member of an affiliated England Boxing Club & registered on the Locker
• Be a British Citizen (eligible for a British passport)
• Be injury-free, as boxers will be required to participate in all activities
• Within 1.5kg of weight to be assessed at
• Born in 2008 or 2009.

Additional Criteria (Boxers must meet all the Compulsory Criteria listed, plus items listed below):

Male Boxers:

• Boxers 52kg-70kg (inclusive) must have a minimum of 20 bouts. All other weights are required to have had a minimum of 10 bouts.
• Have a minimum of 70% win/loss ratio

Female Boxers:

• Had a minimum of 5 bouts.

Cadet Champions

• The winners of the 2026 Cadet Championships can apply for OTD if they meet the compulsory criteria listed.
