The Moves Different programme, delivered by England Boxing and Welsh Boxing, in partnership with the Youth Endowment Fund, is a pioneering crime prevention initiative which aims to engage young people in school years 9-13 who are most at risk of crime, violence and antisocial behaviour.

Recently, the team involved have been busy attending conferences, schools, and events across the country to encourage referrals and promote the benefits of the programme. Here’s a quick round-up of what they’ve been up to…

ConnectED Communities (Wales)

The Programme was featured at the Wales-based ConnectED Communities event, where school staff had the opportunity to engage with partners through workshops. This event allowed the team to network with other organisations that support young people, resulting in valuable connections with school staff and community partners.

Youth Sport Trust (West Midlands)

At the Youth Sport Trust event held at Telford’s International Centre, the team set up a stand to showcase the programme to teachers and students. England Boxing’s Apprentices also demonstrated boxing, offering a hands-on experience for youngsters and generating excitement around the programme.

Blesst Parenting and Carers Conference (West Midlands)

The team was on hand at the Blesst Parenting and Carers Conference in Birmingham, where they shared a stand with the West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership. With a mix of parents and carers in attendance, the event proved to be a fantastic networking opportunity, connecting the team with potential referral partners and families.

South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership (South Yorkshire)

In South Yorkshire, the team presented to professionals working with complex young people. The session highlighted the positive impact boxing can have on disadvantaged youth and demonstrated its potential to help divert them from a criminal lifestyle, strengthening the programme’s community ties.

The Military Preparation College (London)

Project lead, Kirsty, presented to a cohort of students at the Military Preparation College in Croydon, discussing the benefits of boxing as a tool for personal growth and development. After speaking with the students, the programme saw 7 referrals directly from the college. This visit marked the second successful engagement with the Military Preparation College and the relationship is set to continue.

Fulham Kicks Session (London)

Our staff attended three different Fulham Kicks sessions across Lambeth, engaging directly with young people and coaches. This hands-on approach allowed the team to promote Moves Different, discuss its benefits with local youth, and form new connections with coaches who are interested in referring participants to the programme.

Future Molds Visit (London)

Allen, one of the programme’s Apprentices, presented to a room full of organisations connected to the Future MOLDS collective. This event brought together youth projects and organisations that support young people, and Allen’s presentation helped spread the word to even more potential partners in the area.

Afewee Community Event (London)

At Brockwell Park, the team set up a boxing stand to engage with the local community and promote the Programme. This event not only introduced boxing to more young people but also supported and promoted the work of Afewee Boxing Club.

Futures Fest – Ark Evelyn Grace School (London)

The team participated in a careers fair at Ark Evelyn Grace School, hosted by Spiral Skills. With a stall filled with freebies and a boxing activation to entice students, the team successfully showcased how boxing can help shape the future of young people while offering exciting opportunities for growth.

The team’s outreach has been incredibly successful in engaging with young people and referral partners across multiple regions during the months of February and March 2026 and they will continue to build on these relationships to build on referrals to the campaign.
