The Five Pillars Coaching Project continues to build momentum, with applications now open to coaches in the Eastern Counties region.

The project began with a successful trial in the Home Counties earlier this year, before extending to the Southern Counties. Its purpose is to bring club boxing and the England Performance Pathway closer together, underpinned by the BADST coaching framework at the heart of the Performance Programme.

BADST – which stands for Before, After, Distance, Space and Tempo – provides coaches with a consistent technical and tactical language to apply when developing athletes.

Those taking part in the programme will benefit from a series of intensive residential camps and one-to-one sessions, before showcasing their knowledge through video analysis and practical application with athletes.

The programme is fully funded, covering travel, accommodation and expenses.

The opportunity is open to 15 coaches who:

  • Hold a Level Two coaching qualification
  • Have at least 18 months’ coaching experience
  • Are based within the Eastern Counties region (Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk or Cambridgeshire).

Applicants can learn more about the project and the person specification by clicking here.

To apply, please send a CV and a one-page covering letter to Project Lead Carl Ellis via email: carl.ellis@englandboxing.org
