New CSO appointment for TTW region

Laura Sargeant has been appointed as England Boxing’s Club Support Officer (CSO) for Tyne Tees and Wear.
A familiar face to many involved in amateur boxing – not just in her native North East, but up and down the country – Laura has run East Middlesbrough ABC with her husband Martin for 10 years.
The Level Two coach has enjoyed success in the corner, helping Jocelyn Kilkenny win the England Boxing National Schools Title in 2018 and 2019, as well as place in England European Schools Championships squad.
Laura has also played a role in the England talent set-up, including travelling to Romania for the European Junior Championships in May and Ireland for the England Youth girls’ European Youth Championships prep camp earlier this month.
“I’m really excited to be joining the England Boxing team,” she said. “I’m passionate about boxing, especially that going on in the Tyne, Tees and Wear region, which has a fantastic history of both developing champions and carrying out some brilliant community work.
“I know a lot of the clubs and people involved with the already, but I’m really looking forward to getting out there and meeting and helping many more over the coming weeks and months.”
