All scheduled England Talent Pathway activities have been postponed until at least 30th April because of the Coronavirus pandemic, England Boxing can confirm.

This will include all camps, competitions and inductions related to the programme, following Government advice, which you can access here.

England Boxing will, however, continue to review this as the situation develops and keep boxers informed with updates when they are available.

An email has already gone out to each individual and club concerned letting them know the situation.

It follows on from the postponements of England Boxing’s remaining 2019-20 National Championships, and England Boxing courses until the end of April.

Proposed new dates

As it currently stands, if the EUBC Youth European Boxing Championships were to go ahead on the proposed new date (15th May), England Boxing would go with the same selections as those made for when the tournament was scheduled for April.

However, we will review this in the event another date is offered, and also taking into account weight changes, fitness etc, as previously outlined in the initial selection letter.

We will continue to liaise with the event organisers and provide an update with regards to the competition and the associated training camp schedule as soon as possible.

Exceptional circumstances

England Boxing understands that this news will come as a huge disappointment, but given the exceptional circumstances, we ask for understanding that we have been left with no other option in order to help ensure the safety and continued wellbeing of all concerned.

Boxers should be assured that we will be looking to rearrange activities as soon as practicable.

We trust all is clear, but if there are any queries then please do not hesitate to contact us via talentoffice@englandboxing.org
