England Boxing relaunches the Veterans Project this Remembrance Sunday
November 9, 2025 | by Chris Boyd
England Boxing is proud to announce this Remembrance Sunday, the relaunch of the Veterans Project, which will return in a new eight-week programme format.
The England Boxing Veterans Project is designed to support former service personnel by combining weekly non-contact boxing sessions with dedicated social time, helping participants rebuild fitness, routine, confidence, and camaraderie – qualities often missed after leaving the forces.
Six clubs will be selected to participate in the relaunch of the project, with each receiving £500 for taking part. This will be split into two £250 payments, one at the beginning and one upon completion of the project. Successful clubs will be required to provide data from their programme.
Each session within the eight-week programme provides a safe and welcoming environment where veterans can come together to connect, learn, and progress. The format includes 60 minutes of non-contact boxing activities to promote physical health, teamwork, and confidence, followed by 30 minutes of open conversation over coffee, offering time to share experiences and support one another.
The project aims to enhance social inclusion and support positive mental health through social prescribing, community engagement, and personal development activities.
England Boxing recently reinforced its commitment to service personnel through a new partnership with the Royal Marines, recognising the shared values of discipline, resilience and teamwork that underpin both organisations.
This collaboration will provide new engagement pathways, opportunities and support for both current and former military personnel through the sport of boxing.
In addition, England Boxing are now inviting expressions of interest from clubs wishing to host Veterans Project sessions this Remembrance Sunday – a fitting moment to honour service while expanding meaningful, community-based support for veterans across the country.
