England Boxing launches ‘Green Corner Project’ to support clubs and their communities
March 30, 2026 | by Chris Boyd
As part of England Boxing’s plans for environmental action, and in alignment with Sport England’s Every Move initiative, we are delighted to launch the Green Corner Project.
The Green Corner Project provides funding for clubs to improve the environment and promote well-being by connecting people with nature.
Twelve clubs from across the country have been successful in their applications and will now deliver their projects over the next 12 weeks, creating meaningful impact within their communities.
Each project will focus on at least one of the key Every Move priorities, ensuring clubs are contributing to both environmental sustainability and improved physical and mental wellbeing:
Biodiversity
Creating a space for the abundance of different species living in one area. Having as wide a range of different species in an ecosystem as it can support.
Blue-green Environment
Improving urban climate change by building with nature.
Resilience to Climate Change
Reducing vulnerability to hazards through strengthening infrastructure and protecting ecosystems.
Circular Economy
A model of production and consumption to reduce waste to a minimum. This involves sharing, reusing, repairing, recycling, and refurbishing existing materials.

Club Support Officer Alexandra Vass will lead the project and is excited to see the lasting effects: “We’re extremely excited to launch this new initiative, and it’s wonderful to see such a diverse range of ideas for the Green Corner Project. They show real creativity and a genuine commitment to sustainability and wellbeing.
“As a Club Support Officer, I have seen firsthand how funding plays a crucial role in helping these projects come to life and have a lasting impact in the community. I’m really looking forward to seeing the Green Corner Projects once complete and would like to acknowledge clubs for their commitment to this initiative.”
The 12 clubs are:
| Club | Region |
| Aldercar and Langley Mill ABC | East Midlands |
| Brighton and Hove ABC | Southern Counties |
| Brooklands ABC | Midlands |
| Crewkerne Boxing Club | Western Counties |
| Hook & Jab CIC | Merseyside & Cheshire |
| Oldham Boxing | North West |
| Ringcraft Boxing Gym | Home Counties |
| Swale Gloves | Southern Counties |
| Timperley ABC | North West |
| Tower Hill ABC | Merseyside & Cheshire |
| Traffic Light System Boxing CIC | London |
| Unity Boxing CIC | Yorkshire |
Examples of projects set to take place include:
Brighton and Hove
A community-led beach clean initiative that will take place across three weekends leading up to July. The project will bring together approximately 30 volunteers to remove litter and debris from the local coastline, helping to protect marine life, improve the local environment, and encourage positive community engagement.
Traffic Light System CIC
Transform an outdoor space at the boxing gym into a sustainable, climate-resilient community hub for young people and parents. Featuring a small shelter that collects rainwater from the roof into storage butts, which will be used to water plants, maintain a pollinator garden, and support outdoor activities, amongst several other improvements.
Unity Boxing Centre
The project will focus on the circular economy, working with Casting Innovations CIC to develop a recycling station within the gym for aluminium and cans. The aluminium will be refined and repurposed via Castings to work with the young people to make star-of-the-week medals. In 2027, the new can levy will come into effect, with 20p/can being reapplied to recycling cans. The project will lay the foundations for this and work to create an income stream for the gym, as well as promote active recycling among its members.
