Alicia Winbolt has this week begun her new role as England Boxing’s Club Support Officer (CSO) for Yorkshire.

She joins the organisation having previously worked for Doncaster Council as a Sports Participation Co-ordinator.

Prior to that, Alicia was Women and Girls’ Legacy Officer for the East Midlands at the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

She studied Sports Development with Coaching at Sheffield Hallam University and has played football for Sheffield United Women and Handsworth FC, in addition to spending time training in a boxing gym.

“I’m really looking forward to supporting clubs on my home patch of Yorkshire,” said Alicia. “Boxing is a sport that brings so many benefits to the local communities where it operates and I’m looking to help develop that.

“I know how much the power of sport can help to change people’s lives and bring them together and I hope to play my part by helping clubs be the best they can be.

“In my role at Doncaster, I enjoyed visiting a number of boxing clubs, so I will look forward to getting out around the whole of Yorkshire once the Covid-19 Pandemic eases. It will also be great to get involved with some of the events England Boxing put on.”

Alicia can be contacted by emailing alicia.winbolt@englandboxing.org, calling 07741 149814 or via her EB Facebook page.
