Applications welcomed for Southern Counties Five Pillars Coaching Project
September 24, 2025 | by Chris Boyd
England Boxing is inviting applications for the Five Pillars Coaching Project in the Southern Counties region, following the success of its initial trial in the Home Counties.
The project is designed to bring club boxing and the England Performance Pathway closer together, underpinned by the principles of BADST – the coaching framework central to the Performance Programme.
BADST stands for Before, After, Distance, Space and Tempo, and provides a shared technical and tactical language for coaches to apply.
Coaches who take part in the programme will benefit from a series of intensive residential camps and one-to-one sessions, before demonstrating their understanding through video analysis and practical work with athletes.
The opportunity is open to 15 coaches who hold a Level Two qualification, have at least 18 months’ coaching experience and are based within the Southern Counties region (Hampshire, Surrey, Kent, East Sussex or West Sussex).
Applicants can find out more about the project and the person specification by clicking here.
To apply, please send a CV and a one-page covering letter to Project Lead Carl Ellis via email at: carl.ellis@englandboxing.org.
Closing date: Wednesday 1st October 2025.
