Venues for the latter stages of all England Boxing’s remaining major Championships during the 2019-20 season can now be announced.

Eight different regions from around the country have or will take a turn in hosting an event, with those remaining following last weekend’s England Boxing National Development Championships 2019 taking place between December and May.

The England Boxing National Amateur Championships 2020 quarter-finals and semi-finals will be staged at Chase Leisure Centre in the Midlands on 18th and 19th April.

As previously announced, the England Boxing National Amateur Championships 2020 Finals Day follows a week later at Manchester Central, in the North West on 25th April.

The England Boxing National Youth Championships 2020 quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals will be held in the Midlands at The Sports Connexion in Coventry on 14th, 15th, and 16th February.

The semi-finals and finals of the England Boxing National Schools Championship 2020 will take place in the North West at Bowlers Exhibition Centre, Manchester on 16th and 17th May.

This season’s GB Three Nations will see England host the Junior and Youth section of the tournament, which will see the semi-final and finals return to Yorkshire’s Barnsley Metrodome Leisure Complex on 2nd and 3rd May, the venue which held the Schools version last season.

As previously announced, Merseyside and Cheshire’s Exhibition Centre in Liverpool will host the England Boxing National Junior Championships 2020 semi-finals and finals on 28th and 29th March.

And the venue for the England Boxing Women’s Winter Box Cup 2019, at the Guildford Spectrum on 7th and 8th December, has also already been set.

The first event of the 2019-20 calendar, The England Boxing National Development Championships 2019, was successfully held at Western Counties’ Oasis Leisure Centre, Swindon (South semi-final), Tyne Tees and Wear’s Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre (North semi-final),  and Home Counties’ The Spiceball, Banbury (finals).

“We’re delighted to have secured some fantastic host venues this season that we feel will do justice to the great boxing that is in prospect,” said England Boxing’s Competitions and Events Manager, Lynsey Lockey.

“Some of the venues are new to the calendar and others have been used before and are more familiar, but we are pleased that they will allow competitions to visit so many regions.”
