At England Boxing we are always seeking to ensure the continued safety, quality and development of our member clubs. We have a responsibility to manage our funding so that we can continue to provide the level of support that is essential to clubs, communities and boxers across the country.

After speaking with members through our annual membership survey, monthly regional consultations, and various volunteer-led sub-committees and working groups, we have updated the EB Rule BookEB Boxing Abroad Policy, Course and Membership fees, and these changes will come into effect from 1st June 2026.
These changes are as follows:
  1. 30 Day Mandatory Sparring: Following the publication of the EB Rule Book in January 2026, members are reminded that from June 1st 2026, all new boxers (i.e. those who have not previously had a membership or BCR1 with EB) will automatically have a 30-day ‘pending’ status added to their ‘Competitive BCR1’ on The Locker. This will ensure that boxers are unable to compete without having gained sufficient sparring experience before entering the ring for their first competitive bout.
  2. Box Abroad Policy & Process: We are pleased to inform members that the policy and process for applying to receive a Box Abroad permission has been streamlined to make the process easier for clubs and staff alike. Clubs will still need to acquire travel insurance, but documents and further checks no longer need to take place. Further detail is outlined in the updated policy on our website link above.
  3. Membership & Course Fees: After receiving feedback from members of the need to keep fees as affordable as possible whilst also balancing high levels of cost inflation across EB’s operations, the Board have opted to increase fees by a nominal amount for the coming season. The new fees coming into effect on June 1st will be as follows:
  • Club Membership: £250 per annum – (£10 increase)
  • Associate Gym Membership: £150 per annum – (£10 increase)
  • Tier 2 membership (amateur boxer) £14 per annum – (£1 increase)
  • Tier 3 membership (coach, official ) £28 per annum – (£2 increase)
  • Level 1 Coaching Course: £185 per course – (£9 increase)
  • Level 2 Coaching Course: £231 per course – (£11 increase)
By way of background, England Boxing is a not-for-profit organisation that exists solely for the benefit of the sport, our clubs and our members. Fees charged remain amongst the lowest of all National Governing Bodies of sport in recognition of the fact that 40% of our members are in the top 20% from deprived parts of the country.
