England’s senior squad made their mark in Glasgow last week, as they took part in a high-quality international training camp at Boxing Scotland’s High Performance Centre.

Taking place from 27th-30th August, the sessions brought together boxers from Australia, Northern Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland and England for four days of sparring and competitive action.

Rio Gordon led the pack by battling it out against Ben Bonnar (Scotland) which resulted in a first-round stoppage and was quickly followed by teammate, Bobby Wallace, whose Scottish opponent withdrew after an impressive display from the London based boxer. Finally, Keira Bowden ended the event by securing a unanimous decision against Stephanie Kernachan.

The camp wasn’t just about results, though. With multiple nations involved, the experience gave England’s boxers valuable time in the ring with high-calibre opposition, as well as the chance to sharpen their skills and build momentum ahead of the busy months to come.

With strong wins under their belts and plenty of lessons learned, the squad return home from Glasgow full of confidence and ready for the challenges ahead.

Results:
