A further 17 England Boxing Title Belts bouts took place across the country between January and March as the popularity of the format continues to grow.

Since September, there have been 44 bouts and since the competition relaunched in February 2019, in little over a year ago, 90 completed bouts have been contested.

Given that bouts are not facilitated between June and August, and there is no boxing between mid-December-mid January, it works out that in 40 weeks of active boxing there were an average of just over two bouts per week.

Title Belts organiser Damian Ridpath said: “I have witnessed several belt bouts this season and they have been terrific.

“The standard very high and the commitment from the boxers has been superb – and this only bodes well for the performance pathway for England Boxing.

“We can still improve our offer moving forward, but I feel we have got through the initial teething stage well and the process of the Title Belts is becoming embedded so clubs and coaches now understand it.”

The latest set of results from January until the Coronavirus lockdown in March are detailed below and included a victory for Hoddesdon’s Alex Head (pictured above, left, at the England Boxing National Youth Championships 2019), who overcame Billericay’s Tom Browning to win the Central Youth Title Belt.
