Reminder: Level 1 DBS Requirement

We would like to remind all applicants that an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS check must be completed and in place before booking onto an England Boxing Level 1 Assistant Coaching Course.

Our organisation’s expectations are as follows:

Although this is an entry-level course, anyone aspiring to become an assistant coach is expected to already be actively involved in a club environment. This helps develop the practical skills and understanding required to successfully complete the course. Please note this is a formal qualification, and candidates without the necessary preparation may not be successful.

As a boxing club, it is considered best practice that all volunteers working with children under the age of 16 are appropriately vetted. This ensures individuals are suitable for their roles and supports strong club governance and safeguarding standards.

For trainee coaches, completing the DBS alongside First Aid and Safeguarding requirements allows the process of obtaining a coaching licence to be completed more efficiently.
