The eagerly-awaited first international action for England’s amateur boxers in more than two years will see them take on cross-border neighbours Scotland on Friday 4th March.

The Elite-level dual will be boxed behind closed doors at the High Performance Centre in Glasgow.

It will be the Three Lions first outing in almost 26 months because of the onset of Covid-19, their last being the Nations Cup for female boxers, held in Sombor, Serbia, in January 2020.

The Scotland v England duel will see nine Elite bouts contested over 3x3min.

John Stubbs will lead the coaching team, alongside Caroline Dent, Adrian Fleming and Chris Lodge.

“This is our first outing since January 2020 and the team are all very excited to put on the Three Lions vest and represent England,” said England Boxing Development Coach, Amanda Coulson.

“All the boxers have shown their abilities after being selected from the England Boxing National Amateur Championships 2021 (NACs) finalists (Danny Lynch aside). We wish the team the very best of luck and will look forward to sharing the results post-competition.”
