The English boxers took one victory on the evening of boxing.

James boxed well at times using great distance control to catch his opponent and capitalising on the height and reach advantage he had with nice long range punching. James got the win on a split decision.

49kg Harvey Smith from Chadwell St Mary’s took on Billy Unscroft:

A slow start to the bout left Smith potentially a round behind. The second was a better round and Smith stepped it up in the last however the win went to Unscroft by unanimous points decision.

69kg Owen Cooper Worcester city took on Connor Burns:
Cooper put the pressure on the taller opponent with constant combinations to head and body and at times made his opponent miss with his long shots and came back with eye-catching counters. Cooper was unfortunate to lose on a split decision.

Coaches Amanda Coulson, John Warburton and Les Brookings were happy with the performances and attitude of the 3 boxers who have added to their international experiences.
