May 13, 2025 | by Nabillah Akhtar
Emily Asquith will be flying the flag for England tomorrow (14th May) as she steps into the ring at the prestigious Feliks Stamm Tournament in Warsaw, Poland.
The Bridlington boxer has travelled to the Polish capital alongside ten fellow athletes from the GB Boxing squad, all looking to gain valuable international experience on one of amateur boxing’s well-respected stages.
Asquith is set to face Turkey’s Elif Guneri in the Women’s Under 80kg semi-final. A win would see her advance to the final, boosting her preparations and confidence ahead of a crucial competitive year.
The Sheffield Hallam student was recently crowned National Amateur Champion after overcoming a near two-year injury and has also been balancing the sport with her degree whilst working as a teaching assistant.
The Feliks Stamm competition is a long-established fixture on the amateur boxing calendar and this year is being held in association with World Boxing, the new International Federation that was officially recognised in March as the International Federation responsible for boxing’s reinstatement to the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
Emily’s results will be posted across England Boxing’s social media channels, so be sure to follow for updates.
