Salisbury Amateur Boxing Club will be hosting a education and trial evening for athletes interested in the Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) programme on Thursday 31st May.

In conjunction with several Colleges and educational providers around the country, England Boxing offers the DiSE.

The DiSE programme is a combination of high performance boxing training and educational opportunities where students can both develop their boxing performance and earn educational qualifications.

The DiSE programme is delivered over a 2 year period, and consists of high performance boxing training and development – this is achieved via boxers maintaining a training portfolio and completing a series of boxing/training related tasks which will result in the achievement of a Level 3 ‘Diploma in Sporting Excellence’.

Boxers on the DiSE programme MUST undertake a programme of educational study (in line with government requirements). This educational study will vary according to your individual needs, but could include a BTEC Sport Diploma, A-Levels, or any other non-apprenticeship course.

Coming up over the coming months are a series of Trial/Assessment Days at the delivery sites. These trial/assessment days will consist of a skills based assessment where you will be assessed by the DiSE coaches; coaches who have been delivering the DiSE/AASE programme since its inception in 2010.

Please ensure you bring with you your gloves (minimum 10oz), wraps and appropriate clothing.  We will not accept boxers from clubs who are not affiliated to England Boxing. Please speak to your club coach prior to accepting this invite to the trial/assessment day.
