Ask, Check, Choose Licenced Coaching
October 2, 2026 | by Nabillah Akhtar
In collaboration with our good friends at the Angling Trust, and alongside other National Governing Bodies including the Rugby Football League, British Cycling and Archery GB, England Boxing has produced this video to help encourage participants, parents, clubs and anyone interested in becoming a member of a sports club to ask the right questions, check a coach’s credentials and choose qualified and licenced coaches.
In conjunction with this campaign, we have also created our own Licenced Coach Locator (Licensed Coach Locator | Sport:80) to help all members or non-members to be able to find qualified and licenced coaches. It can also help reassure parents that the club and coaches they have chosen are qualified and licenced.
Furthermore, this helps create clear and transparent Workforce Governance as we head towards the integration of Sport England’s future introduction of the National Register of Coaches.
Coaches will need to opt in at present to appear on the register, this can easily be done as shown in our Coach Locator Video Guide or by following the steps below:
- Logging into your Locker Profile
- Go to Licence and Lanyards
- Click on your current Coach Licence
- Select Locator Preference
- Click Yes for Display on Locator
(email and phone number are not required but you may add these at your own discretion)
- Click Next and Save.
- You will now appear on the Licenced Coach Locator
Coaches, we really would appreciate your support with this campaign and urge you to opt in. We are hoping this will showcase the great work that clubs and coaches do, not only in their gyms, but by keeping their qualifications up to date, which often adds work out of hours. That on it’s own shows the dedication and commitment coaches have, which in turn reassures any prospective parents that the coach and gym they choose for their child is fully qualified, licenced and had the care and welfare of the child at heart.
To log on to find a licenced and qualified coach click the link here or find our Licensed Coach Locator in the resources section of the Locker.
