
England Boxing Level 2 Full Coach
The England Boxing Level 2 Full Coach is the second step on England Boxing’s Coaching Pathway.
This course allows candidates to supervise sparring and run their own club.
If you are already a qualified coach and are looking to develop your knowledge and skills to deliver better and more sessions at your club, then this is the course for you.
This learning programme and assessment is run over 4 days with your assessment taken on the last day.
On successful completion of this course candidates will receive an England Boxing Level 2 Full coach award and will be equipped to deliver session independently.
England Boxing Level 2 Full Coaches can set up their own boxing clubs affiliated to England Boxing, be able to work alongside England Boxing Level 3 Senior Coaches and other full coaches at regional level and apply to coach for the England Boxing Performance Pathway when opportunities arise. (subject to criteria)
What do you need before you can sign up?
- Be 18 years of age or over.
- Hold an England Boxing Level 1 Assistant Coach award for a minimum of 1 year.
- Coaches should be competent on all aspects of pad work and supervised sparring before embarking on a Level 2 – Full Coach course.
- Be affiliated to an England Boxing club.
- Hold an enhanced DBS. (Valid for 3 years)
- Have first aid qualification including AED training. (Valid for 3 years)
- Hold an England Boxing Safeguarding qualification. (Valid for 3 years)
- Be able to supply two boxers for your assessment day. Boxers must be registered on The Locker and have a current BCR1 and QR code, this will ensure they are covered for insurance purposes. Be able to communicate effectively in English (listening, speaking, reading and writing.)

Course Details
- All courses run from 9am-5pm unless otherwise stated.
- You are required to wear sporting clothes, bring boxing gloves and any coaching pads, along with a packed lunch and water to keep you hydrated. A notebook and pen will also be useful.
Candidates are required to attend all four days of the course with no exceptions and no swapping of course locations.
Part of the Level 2 Full Coach course requirements are that you must take two boxers to your assessment day. All boxers must be registered on the Locker and show as current with and in date BCR1 and QR code. If none are available this should be flagged with the coach educator on the first day of the course. You must not coach your own boxers during your assessment.
The course covers:
- All aspects of sparring.
- Pad work – Orthodox and South Paw.
- Planning and programming.
- Nutrition.
- Safeguarding.
- England Boxing rules.
- Final assessment with a pass or fail mark.
How much does the course cost?
The course costs £220
- Payment: Must be made at the time of booking via debit or credit card.
- Confirmation: You will receive a payment confirmation email immediately after booking along with the pre course information.
When do I receive my certification from the course?
Upon completion of the course, if successful you will be qualified as an England Boxing Level 2 Full coach and will receive your certificate and qualification updated on The Locker as and when we receive the results from the Coach Educator.
Upon completion of the course, if unsuccessful, you will be given the opportunity to retake the assessment, once free of charge. The Coach Educator Assessor will issue you with an action plan to complete and a time frame of when to book on to your next assessment. If unsuccessful a second time, you will need to pay for and attend the course again.
For unsuccessful candidates, failure of an England Boxing Level 2 Full Coaching course will act as a revalidation for your current Level 1 Assistant Coach qualification.
This will be updated on receipt of the course register from the tutor.
