FAO: Clubs Renewing Their Membership For The 2026-27 Season
June 8, 2026 | by Nabillah Akhtar
As clubs are renewing membership for the 2026-27, some common features and updates may be experienced over the coming weeks.
The guidance below will help to ensure you have a smooth experience and avoid any delays with your membership. We understand that some clubs are currently experiencing issues with auto-renewal and memberships showing as “Payment Pending” or “Action Required”.
- ‘Pending’ status Clubs & Individuals:
If clubs or individuals are showing as pending then it is due to a pending transaction between the payee’s bank account and stripe. If your club membership or individual membership is set to auto-renew, please keep an eye out for an email requesting you to authorise the payment. The specific wording for the email on a pending payment is usually titled “we’ve been unable to process your payment”. This is an additional security measure, and the renewal will not be processed until the payment has been approved.
Please click on the link in the email to confirm payment and check your junk / spam folder to find the email if it is not in your inbox. Membership will remain pending until you have followed that link. One authorisation will be sent each day for 10 days. After 10 days, the payment will be marked as failed and the status will update.
It may also be that the payee needs to login to their online banking app to authorise the payment. Whilst the club membership is pending clubs cannot log into the locker and renew the club membership manually. Clubs will either need to approve or cancel the payment via their bank first.
- ‘Action Required’ Clubs or Individuals:
If any clubs or individuals are showing as ‘Action Required’, this may be due to an expired certification, safeguarding qualification, or DBS linked to the Club Coach or Club Welfare Officer role. Please check the relevant profile and ensure all required qualifications and checks are current and valid.
Following that, contact Head Office (contact details HERE) or your regional CSO (contact details HERE) who should then be able to verify any outstanding issues and manually lift any suspensions where possible and needed.
