Are you ready to Move Different?

Moves Different gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself, discover your potential, and take part in something unique. If you join the programme, you’ll either step into the boxing gym for six months of free boxing sessions with expert coaches, or receive a gym membership to focus on your own fitness journey.

Both options are a great opportunity to experience something new. Whether it’s through learning the discipline of boxing or taking control of your training in the gym, you’ll gain skills and experiences that can make a real difference in your life.

This is your opportunity to get active, try something new, and be a part of a programme that’s all about unlocking potential. Whichever route you choose, you’ll have the chance to experience a life that Moves Different.

Boxing or Gym

Once you’re on the Moves Different project, you’ll be randomly placed into one of two exciting programmes offering boxing sessions or a gym membership.

Boxing gives you the chance to train like a boxer with two free sessions a week for six months. You’ll learn proper techniques through pad work and bag work and, if you choose, progress to sparring under the guidance of qualified coaches. All the kit is provided, so you just need to bring your energy and commitment.

If are chosen for the gym route, you will receive a free gym membership, giving you the freedom to train when it suits you. Whether you’re into strength training, cardio, bodybuilding, powerlifting, or trying something new, you’ll have access to all the facilities to shape your own fitness journey.

FAQs for Participants

This programme is designed to support young people who might be going through some tough times in school, at home, or in their community, who would benefit from a positive opportunity like the Moves Different Programme.

You could be eligible if, for example, you’ve experienced exclusions from schools, are attending alternative education, home life is challenging, or have found yourself in situations where behaviour has become difficult to manage. A trusted professional who knows you well can recommend you if they believe the programme would make a real difference for you.

The important thing to remember is that Moves Different is here to give you a fresh opportunity to develop confidence, skills and positive connections for the future.

All we ask is that you give the programme a real shot. You’ll come along to two boxing sessions a week, where you’ll train with qualified coaches, learn new skills, and be part of a positive environment. You don’t need any experience – just a willingness to show up and try your best.

Or, with your gym membership, you can explore the gym and all it has to offer to get active. Take advantage of the freedom to train at times that suit you, and the facilities that the gym has for you to try.

We’ll also ask you to share your thoughts through things like short feedback surveys or chats with the team at the start, during, and end of the programme. This isn’t about testing you – it’s about recording data that matters, making sure your voice is heard and helping us make the programme even better for you and others.

Most importantly, we want you to be open to the journey. It might be challenging, but if you stick with it, you’ll build confidence, fitness, and friendships that last beyond the programme.

If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, here’s how it can be done.
