England Boxing has announced the squad set to compete at the upcoming U15 European Championships, which will be held in Budva, Montenegro, from 16th–26th October 2025.
The team is made up entirely of fresh faces, the majority stepping onto the international stage for the very first time to make their debut.
The 17-strong squad will attend numerous training camps in preparation for the prestigious tournament abroad and will be guided by Lead National Coach Amanda Coulson, supported by Dave Johnston, Carl Ellis and Kerry Chalk.
Speaking on his selection, Zidane Tazeem of Pound4Pound Boxing Academy said: “Being selected to represent England in boxing is a dream come true. It’s such a huge honour and something I’ve worked towards since I first stepped into the ring.
“Training has really ramped up – I’m pushing harder than ever, taking guidance from my coach and the England coaches. The preparation is tough, but it’s making me sharper and stronger every day. My family are incredibly proud, and I know my brother Ali Tazeem is proud too. Carrying him with me makes this journey even more special.”
Meanwhile, Laylah Beecher (Tommy Coyle Academy) shared her excitement: “I still can’t believe I’ve been picked to box for my country. Ever since I started boxing, this is what I’ve wanted more than anything, and now it’s actually happening. I’m going to fight for my country!
“Training is really hard now but in a good way. I’m pushing myself so much to get better at everything. getting stronger, faster, and tougher mentally too. It’s really difficult but I love it because I know it’s making me better.
“My family have always supported me, coming to all my fights and believing in me even when things got tough. Now they get to see me box for our country, which is amazing when I think about it.
“They’ve been there since I was little and just dreaming about this. Now they actually get to watch me represent our country. This whole thing isn’t just about me. it’s about all of us. I always dreamed about this and now it’s real. But the hard work is just starting because now I need to train even harder to make sure I do my country proud.”
