Get your 2021 New Year’s training off to a running start with our England Boxing Strava Challenge!

Members of England Boxing clubs at the Schools, Junior, Youth and Senior levels are invited to join their respective groups to line up some healthy competition during the month of January.

Do you have what it takes to beat the rest of the boxers in your age group and finish at the top of the standings?

The weekly winners throughout January in each group (male and female) in terms of most distanced covered will get a shout out on England Boxing social media.

The Challenge was successfully run in the lead up to Christmas for Youth Boxers on the England Talent Pathway, with Charlie Hickford, Sahil Khan, Kieran McDaid (male) and Megan Bainbridge, Megan Morris and Sophia Maycroft (female) earning the plaudits as weekly winners.

England Boxing Development Coach Amanda Coulson said: “It was great to see so many Youth boxers  on the England Talent Pathway take on the Challenge, and it’s fantastic that we’re now able to open it up to boxers at all levels.

“Whether you’re hoping to go on and win a Championship or you’re just want to box to be part of a gym and keep fit, anyone can get involved, and we wish all participants good luck!”

The first challenge will start next Monday morning (4th January) and run through the week until Sunday evening (10th January), resetting each Monday morning thereafter throughout January.

Please note that boxers taking part are doing so their own risk and must ensure they have adequate footwear and clothing and no injury or health concerns.

Important: It is recommended that participants do not to run alone in the dark and parents and coaches are requested to monitor the activity of under 18s and ensure that those taking part do not push themselves beyond their running capabilities, while also giving themselves adequate rest.

Please note that your request to join will remain pending and only be accepted once the Challenge starts. Please indicate on your Strava profile which club you are a member of and also ensure under ‘Privacy Controls’ you choose ‘Everyone’ otherwise your results might not show up in the leaderboard, which lists the top 100.
