England Boxing is offering a seven-week online development programme on refereeing and judging, to start with immediate effect.

It aims to provide continued learning and upskilling for existing officials, but is also open to those who want to become one, as well as coaches, clubs and boxers who want to understand more about the process.

The R&J programme follows on from the development opportunity that was offered to supervisors last month.

“Over the past couple of months, the England Boxing Officials Sub-Committee have been developing a range of resources for Officials across England,” said England Boxing’s Coaching Consultant, Chris Porter.

“The first Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme has been focused on supporting and developing Supervisors and now this his resource focuses on supporting and developing Referees and Judges.

“The aim is to provide a resource for all officials across the boxing pathway and help everyone to stay connected and current.

“England Boxing’s Officials Sub-Committee hopes that this resource will help create clarity and understanding of the roles of officials, plus offer an understanding of boxing from an officials point of view.”
