Five Senior boxers selected for 2025 Golden Gong Tournament
November 7, 2025 | by Chris Boyd
Five Senior Male England Performance boxers have been selected for the upcoming 54th Golden Gong Tournament, which will take place between 14th and 17th November in Skopje, North Macedonia.
England returns for the latest edition of the prestigious tournament for the first time since 2023, when a team of five went undefeated across eight bouts to all claim gold. That feat ensured England returned home with the trophy for Best Team at the tournament.
Hoping to repeat that is another strong quintet, consisting of three current National Amateur Champions in Amo Singh (Repton), Divine Omojor (Tyneside) and Akinola Tijani (Fitzroy Lodge), alongside seasoned England international Rio Gordon (Harwich) and GB Boxing prospect Joe Turner (Jennings).
The coaching team will consist of John Hodkinson and Bobby Miltiadous, led by Chris Lodge. Rohan Lester and Robert Wileman will travel as a physiotherapist and England’s referee and judge, respectively.
