14 EB Pathway Athletes selected for Team England at Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

England Boxing is delighted to congratulate the 14 athletes selected to represent Team England at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The squad, comprising seven women and seven men, has progressed through the England Boxing Performance Pathway before earning places on the GB Boxing World Class Programme in Sheffield. Together, they will look to extend England’s legacy as the most successful boxing nation in Commonwealth Games history.

Every boxer selected will be making their Commonwealth Games debut, highlighting the strength and depth of England’s next generation of talent. The squad arrives in Glasgow with a wealth of international success, having collected medals at World Boxing Cups, World Championships and European Championships over the past 12 months.

Paris 2024 Olympian and 2025 world bronze medallist Chantelle Reid is selected. The 28-year-old heads into Glasgow in impressive form, having secured gold at the Strandja Cup in April before adding a bronze medal at the World Boxing Cup in China.

Joining Reid is reigning U19 World Champion Ruby White, who continues her rapid rise after a string of domestic and international successes. The 19-year-old will make the step up alongside Lauren Mackie, who arrives fresh from a World Boxing Cup bronze medal and her senior World Boxing Championships debut last year.

European U23 Champion Sacha Hickey also earns selection after another impressive season, while Elise Glynn, Lucy Kings-Wheatley and Mary-Kate Smith complete a women’s squad packed with international pedigree.

The men’s team features reigning European U23 Champion Damar Thomas, who will look to continue England’s recent success in the super-heavyweight division following Strandja Cup gold earlier this year. Twin brothers Will and Paddy Hewitt also earn selection after impressive performances on the international stage.

Patris Mughalzai, Oladimeji Shittu, Ellis Trowbridge and Isaac Okoh complete the men’s line-up, with each boxer bringing valuable experience from recent World Boxing Cup campaigns into their first Commonwealth Games.

Team England Chef de Mission, Jonathon Riall, said: “Our boxing team really packs a punch ahead of what will be a standout spectacle at Glasgow 2026. Team England has such a rich history in the ring, and I know our team in Glasgow will do their best to continue that record.”

Super-heavyweight, Damar Thomas, said: “England has a very strong tradition of doing well at my weight and I am looking forward to continuing this at Glasgow 2026.  We have a very good team that is packed with talent and a lot of boxers coming into this tournament in excellent form, so hopefully we can all do well.

“It’s great that the Games are being held in Great Britain as it makes it a lot easier for our friends and family to come and support us, so we are all looking forward to representing England at Glasgow 2026.”

Ruby White added: “I’m incredibly excited and proud to have been selected to represent England at the Commonwealth Games. Pulling on the England vest for my Commonwealth Games debut is a huge honour, and it’s another special milestone in what has already been an amazing journey.

“At just 19, I’m grateful for every opportunity I’ve been given, and I’m determined to make the most of this one. I’m ready to perform on the biggest stage, show what I’m capable of, and make everyone who’s supported me proud. I can’t wait to get out there and show the world what I can do.”

The Boxing Team Leader for Team England at Glasgow 2026, Chris Connelly, said: “It’s an incredibly exciting moment to announce this team. Every athlete has earned their place through years of hard work, dedication and consistent performances in the ring, and it’s fantastic to see so many of them come through the England Boxing pathway. This squad reflects the depth of talent and strength of boxing across England.

“Selection is a proud milestone for the athletes, but it’s an equally proud moment for the coaches, clubs and families who have supported them every step of the way. We hope clubs across the country look at this team with pride, knowing they’ve played an important part in making this achievement possible.”
