England Boxing knows that not everyone interested in boxing wants to join a club or get in the ring and box competitively.

So it’s good to know that there are plenty of places to take part in fitness studio-based boxing – and to experience the health benefits and sheer enjoyment of training like an Olympic-style boxer.

Boxing training provides some of the best all over body conditioning you can get, no matter what your age or level of ability.

It’s a great way of improving stamina and boosting the cardiovascular system while improving core strength and balance.

Recreational boxing

Health benefits

Boxing training is becoming increasingly popular as more and more people recognise the health benefits and realise that you can train like a boxer without actually competing.

Make-the-weight schemes are also popular, helping people to achieve realistic and attainable weight goals through boxing training.

To find a gym in your area that offers boxing training or circuit lessons for recreational boxers visit England Boxing’s Club Finder or contact your local regional secretary.

Becoming a recreational member of England Boxing

If you are with a club, you can become a recreational boxer member of England Boxing, even if you don’t compete.

Ask your club for a MR1 form or download the Recreational Boxer’s form.
